Photos, videos, audio, documents, emails, notes, and more, Keepd is your place for the things you want to keep.
While you may already be familiar with lots of the parts of Keepd, like storage, emails and notes, there are some things we do a little bit differently.
In this guide we'll walk you through all the basics to help you get started using and getting the most out of Keepd.
Understanding where everything is: The Layout

Main Window
The main window will display a list of your recent Activity Notifications. You can access the related activity by clicking on the activity notifications from the list.
Activity Notifications
Activity notifications show the activity that has taken place in your Keepd account. You can access the related activity by clicking on the activity notifications from the list.
There are different types of 'Activity Notifications'.
- Email - these will open the related email.
- File - will take you to the folder that the related file(s) are stored
- Chat - will open the related chat
- System notifications - these are notifications from Keepd. These are notifications like password resets, PIN resets, etc.
Your direct 'Activity Notifications' will be shown in 'Home', while channel related 'Activity Notifications' will be shown in the 'Recents' section of the related channel.
Navigation Tiles
Navigation tiles act almost as a filter for your activity. More than just a filter, the tiles will take you to the dedicated areas for those types of activity.
Side Nav
Top Bar
The top bar allows you to expand or collapse the Side Nav, refresh the application, access the settings and the user menu.
Keepd is for all the things that you want to keep. You can use your Keepd account for your personal things as well as the things you want to keep and share with others. Lets first take a look at using Keepd for your own personal things.
Using Keepd for your things
Storage
You have your own ‘My Storage’ area for storing your personal things. You can store photos, videos, audio, documents and more in your ‘My Storage’. You are the only person that can see or access the things you have stored in your ‘My Storage’.
You can access your ‘My Storage’ by using the tile on the ‘Home’ page.

Your Keepd account lets you experience the best of email. There are a couple of ways to use email in Keepd.
You can use your Keepd account as an ‘archive’ for the emails from your other email addresses that you want to keep safe, secure and organized. You can link your other email accounts to your Keepd account and then pull the emails you want to keep over to Keepd. You can also use your Keepd account as a traditional email account. When you sign up to Keepd you get a Keepd email address and email account. You can use these as you would any other email account; sign up to services, send emails, receive emails, etc. But there are a few big differences. All of your email activity in Keepd is automatically organized by channel and kept private and secure.

You can access your Keepd mailbox by using the ‘My Email’ tile on the ‘Home’ page.
Notes
Your Keepd account comes with a place for you to create and store notes.
You can use your notes to store passwords, account details, lists, ideas and plans or any other information you want to remember. Your Keepd notes are kept secure (they are encrypted in your account) and private at all times.

You can use Keepd for more than just personal storage. you can use Keepd the things you want to keep, share an communicate with others. Before looking at what and how to share and communicate with others, you first see how to can invite contacts and create groups in Keepd.
In Keepd we have a ‘Channel’ centred design. Channels are at the heart of what we do and how we approach things! Think of ‘Channels’ as relationships. In Keepd you can have 1-to-1 channels (these are listed in your ‘Individuals’ list) and group channels (these are lists in your ‘Groups’ list).
Using Keepd with others
Inviting contacts
If you want to keep, share and communicate things with others in Keepd, you'll need to invite them.
You just need either the phone number or email address of the person you want to invite. When you invite someone to Keepd they'll get a text message or email including an invite link, all they need to do is open (click) the link set up a PIN and they'll be in.
You can invite contacts using the add new channels from the side navigation or in user menu.

Creating Groups
In Keepd you can have more than 1-to-1 channels with your contacts. You can create groups.
Anything you keep, share and communicate in a group all the members of that group can see and access. The great thing about groups (and all Channels for that matter) in Keepd is that they are 2-way. This means it's not only you that can upload, share and communicate things, everyone else in the group can too!
You can create groups with contacts you already have in Keepd or invite new contacts while you're creating groups.
You can create groups using the add new channels from the side navigation or in user menu.

Shared Storage
Every channel (1-to-1 and groups) you have in Keepd has it's own ‘Shared storage' area for storing and sharing things. Just like in your ‘My Storage’ area, you can store photos, videos, audio, documents and more in a channels ‘Shared Storage’. Anything you uploaded into a channels shared storage will be shared with everyone in that channel.
You can access a channels ‘Shared Storage’ by navigating to a channel and using the ‘Shared’ tile.

Each of your channels have their own ‘mailboxes’. All the emails you send and receive in the channel can be access in the channels ‘Emails’ area.
You can access a channels mailbox by navigating to a channel and using the ‘Emails’ tile.
Chat
Email is not the only way to communicate in a channel. Each channel in Keepd has its own ‘Chat’.
Think of chat in Keepd as you would any other chat application, send messages, bring your shared moments to life.
You can access a channels chat by navigating to a channel and using the ‘Chat’ tile.
Understanding more of what you can do with Keepd
Linked Emails
Like we mentioned earlier in this article, you can link your other email addresses to your Keepd account. You can pull emails from linked email accounts into your Keepd account where they'll be organized and secure, without spam.
You can add a linked email by using the button in your ‘My Emails’ mailbox or by using the ‘Linked Emails’ option in the user menu.

Email Forwarding
Linked Emails are not the only way to pull emails out of your messy, spam filled email accounts and into your secure, organized Keepd account.
If you've got emails in your other email account(s) that you want to keep, all you need to do is select the email(s) you want and forward them to your Keepd email address.
Just like every other email in your Keepd account, emails that you forward in are automatically organized into private channels with the original sender(s), making your emails easy to find.
You can also choose to auto-forward the emails you want to keep.
Viewing Galleries
'Viewing Galleries' are one of the features we are most excited about in Keepd! Our Viewing Galleries open up new possibilities when it comes to sharing with others.
Keepd lets you share things with others in a few different ways, like most other apps, most of these involve the people you share with having to use the Keepd platform. Our Viewing Galleries changes all that!
Viewing Galleries in Keepd allow you to share the pictures, videos, audio files and documents you have in your Keepd account with others outside of Keepd. When you create a Viewing Gallery a link will be created. Send this link to others to share the Viewing Gallery with them.

Blocking Contacts
Keepd lets you control who communicates with you.
Our blocking feature works in 2 ways:
- You can manually block any contact you choose.
- Keepd will automatically block contacts that breach our fair use rules and have been identified as sending scam or spam emails.
Your ‘Blocked List’ will contain all the contacts that have been blocked from communicating with you. You can check and manage your blocked contacts from your ‘Blocked List’.
You can access your ‘Blocked List’ from the users settings menu.

Encrypted Emails
Your Keepd account keeps the emails in your mailbox private and encrypted.
You can send encrypted emails from your Keepd email account also. Sending encrypted emails from your Keepd account keeps your emails private and protected in transit but also once it's been delivered to your recipient too.

Document Editing & Signing
You can use your Keepd account to sign and edit the documents you receive directly in your account. Document editing and signing saves you from having to print documents to sign or forms to fill.
Just open the document and edit or sign it in the editor in Keepd.
